On a rainy morning Timón and I made our way to Religion Speciality Coffee, another dog friendly spot on number 24 Calle de María de Molina, 24.

Gloomy days are pretty rare in Madrid but it nicely reminded me of my time in London. A city where there would be nothing better than brunch to start the weekend and thus not matter the weather.

The interior could be described as raw only featuring wooden furniture’s, natural colours hanging plants without any fuss and a downstairs area. All what is needed is there and the small space and quirky lay out make it very welcoming. And with a neon sign on the wall saying “coffee in my god” and such a name hints from the neon sign to the name, Religion is specialised into coffee.

This is not it; Religion café is the incarnation of the Australian café style in Madrid, a trend that hit London way before making its way to the capital.

Thus you will find on the menu some colourful blue, golden or reishei latte. As well as the healthy bowls featuring pink pitaya, blue spirulina or the more traditional acai one.

The smoothie names also refer to the name of the place with the forbidden fruit, like a virgin or judas kiss.

Religion speciality coffee is famous for bringing to the city colourful bowls and never seen before blue latte. Nonetheless, on this day I opted for some classics options of the brunch menu available on weekends.

The Ice Latte was very nice as well as the avocado toast with poached egg and radish. To finish I tried the yoghurt granola with organic yoghurt and homemade granola. Overall, it was all very tasty, fresh and in perfect quantities.

I was very intrigued by the savoury porridge options as well as very tempted by the pancakes.

They also have plenty other healthy options for the lunch during the week such as Buddha bowl; soup, salad and hummus; On the counter you can also see a choice of sweet and savoury croissants, homemade cakes and bagels to take away.

We won’t forget to share our thoughts on it and for sure some incredible pictures of them. Have you been to Religion Speciality Coffee with your dog?
