At the number 44 of Madrid’s most trendy street that is calle Barquillo, you will find AÜAKT. This restaurant, like most of the places in this area of Madrid, practices a dog friendly policy. We have now visited AÜAKT, a restaurant that seems to be the perfect spot in town to visit with your dog.
The restaurant who opened recently already sparked in the Madrid foodie scene. I believe that the hype for AÜAKT surely has to do with its sumptuous décor, prime location and its healthy cuisine.
First of all, let’s discuss about its interior designed by Madrid in love Studio, well known for its previous projects in the capital. The interior features natural materials with leather chairs, feathers lightings, marble tables and green plants. A décor with pampa grass on the walls along a stunning bar, as if we were in New York.
There are four different menus depending on the time of the day, all with gluten free and vegetarians options. The menu offers many healthy options and what you see on the menu is what you get with no added extra ingredients to it. During our visit, I really enjoyed the soft shell crab a dish kept simple full of flavours from the sauce. The ceviche had spiciness coming through the tiger milk accompanied by the soft mackerel melting in mouth. For a second main, the Milanese was a really generous dish served with a sweet pear and mustard sauce.
On this occasion, we did not try any of desserts from the menu although we were tempted by the warm and spicy liquid chocolate. A dish that we would try on another occasion along with the courgette cannelloni, baked aubergine and the AÜAKT.
AÜAKT offers minimalist dishes, meaning that it’s all about the product in itself without modifying its original taste and keeping it simple but flavoursome.
At the time of our visit another three dogs were present including one bigger than Timón. This proved to us that AÜAKT is indeed dog friendly and thus no matter the size of the dog. Overall, AÜAKT is good option if you are looking to healthy light dishes in a nice setting or enjoy a drink at the bar with your dog.
